Turban Love Child of Mine

I have grown a profound love for the turban, and I think I rather desperately need to add a few more to my wardrobe..  However men do not seem to share my natural affinity for their instant ability to transform you into the love child of an indian guru..
Alas it has lead to much thought about how we describe our outfits upon my behalf, and how we dress in general whether we dress for men, other women or ourselves..
As I'm more than slightly obsessed with The Man Repeller's blog... Sigh...I'm still working my way back through all the posts, I have come up with a system of describing outfits as follows;
  1.  The Man Eater- Literally the praying mantis of the female world, she devours men alive ( I quite like the notion of ripping their heads off once you've finished having your way with them... sadistic .. little old me.. never). Or as Samantha says in SATC " Hi, I need something that'll make a guy cum in his pants as soon as he sees me" Enough said.
  2. The Man Getter- The good time girl who loves sex almost as much as the Man eater, but doesn't necessarily want the guys to know that BEFORE getting them between the sheets
    Think 'naked dresses' hugging the body in all the 'right' places, pretty heels and blow drys that BOUN-CCC-E
  3. The Man Wanter- We all know one of these, the one you see out and about at night, wearing a dress and heels, but lacking that certain shot of well lets call it Tits'n'Ass that a certain type of man finds so attractive. Not because she doesn't have them don't get me wrong, she's just not about to open with them the way an Eater would.
  4. The Semi Repeller- A dash of girl a dash of boy a dash of what ever was found last minute floating on the floor before she dashed out the door, this girl knows fashion but doesn't want to send the boys running for the hills in terror.. She may just be on to something
  5. The Man Repeller- If you haven't acquainted yourself with the lady herself's blog... Do so IMMEDIATELY.  These are the outfits that bloggers lose their shit over. Yep I said it. This girl could wear a carpet sack and still make it fucking cool. I love you.
  6. The Gaga- Beyond man repelling, like it's name sake this is just art, fashion because you can, and if you can why the hell wouldn't you? A dress made of meat? McQueen Armadillos.. I'll have an order of each please.. The stuff dreams and Vogue shoots are made out of...
     So here's my turban rate it as you will I honestly thought it was Semi repellant but the boys say other wise.. Oh well I'm not complaining, more turban love for me if the girls aren't lining up with grubby little hands to get a hold of them HUZZAH!

    Island Life at the Venn Gallery

    My purchase from Venn unfolded

    My purchase from Venn folded

    Yes I'm alive! I know I have left my blog neglected for far too long, but I must say in my own defence I have been incredibly busy with work, work, study, work and the addition of an amazing new man in my life who for now shall remain relatively undiscussed ( I don't want to jinx myself) but let's just say finding a member of the male species who appreciates art and music and food perhaps almost as much as  I do is kind of mind blowing...

    Any how myself and my sister were invited to the opening of the latest Clare Davies exhibition Island Life at the Venn Gallery. Venn is a relatively new space in Perth and one that I have become besotted with, partly because it is an incredible open space, partly because of the basement level artist studios that if your lucky enough to delve into are filled with beautiful works in progress ( I always love the progressional stages more than the finished they seem so much more personal surrounded by the artists tools, inspiration and debris.) and partly because of the amazing team of staff who always cause me to kick myself for not having taken my camera to take photos of in their amazing outfits... Ahhh

    Anyway I thought I'd post a few pics from the night, please forgive the quality I took them with my iphone and I'm still working out how to use it to get the best photographic results.

    Love C xo
